1. Who we are
ROAST is a product developed by Blackbridge Developments Limited (“we”, “us” or “our”), company number 16726885. For privacy questions, contact hello@joinroast.com.
2. Information that may be processed
Depending on the features you use, the app may process information such as:
- Account and profile information, such as a username and profile details.
- Content you choose to share, including posts, photos, captions, drink details and ratings.
- Interactions with content, such as likes, comments, follows and saved posts or cafés.
- Café information and place-related details associated with posts.
- Messages you send to us and information needed to respond.
- Technical and diagnostic information required to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service.
We will update this notice to accurately describe the data collected by the released app and website.
Early-access waitlist
If you join the ROAST early-access waitlist, we collect the first name and email address you provide, the Apple device you select (iPhone or iPad), your optional city, and a record of your consent and the signup time. We use these details to manage the waitlist and contact you about early access, TestFlight invitations and related ROAST product updates.
Waitlist entries are stored in our Supabase database service. The public website form is permitted to submit a signup but is not permitted to read the waitlist. We do not sell waitlist information. To withdraw consent or request access, correction or deletion, email hello@joinroast.com. We will handle requests in line with applicable data-protection requirements. We intend to retain waitlist details only for as long as needed to manage early access and related communications, subject to any legal obligations.
By selecting the consent checkbox on the form, you agree to receive emails from ROAST about early access, TestFlight invitations and related product updates. You can contact us at any time to withdraw that consent.
3. Location information
ROAST is intended to support café discovery. If a released feature requests device location, the app should explain why it is needed and request permission where required. You can manage location permission in your device settings. The exact use of location must be confirmed against the final implementation before launch.
4. How information is used
Information may be used to create and manage accounts, display profiles and posts, provide discovery and saving features, enable likes and comments, respond to enquiries, maintain security, troubleshoot issues and improve the service.
5. Service providers
ROAST’s development includes Supabase for backend and database functionality and Apple Maps-related place discovery. The specific providers, data shared with each provider, hosting locations and applicable terms must be verified against the production configuration before launch. We will identify relevant providers and link to their privacy information in the final notice where appropriate.
6. Sharing and public content
Content you publish to a public profile or feed may be visible to other users. Do not post information or images you do not want others to see. We do not intend to sell personal information; the final notice will explain any disclosures needed to operate the service or comply with law.
7. Retention and security
We intend to retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described, subject to legal obligations and legitimate operational needs. We use appropriate measures intended to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Exact retention periods and production security measures must be confirmed before launch.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location and circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing of your personal information, and to raise a concern with your data protection authority. You can contact us at hello@joinroast.com to make a privacy request.
9. Children
ROAST is not intended to be directed at children. The appropriate minimum age and age-related safeguards will be stated in the final app terms and privacy notice before release.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as ROAST develops. The latest version will be published on this page with its effective date.
